A digital image can sit forgotten in your phone’s camera roll, lost between screenshots and grocery lists. But an heirloom print—framed on your wall, touched by little fingers, passed down through generations—that’s a different kind of magic. That’s what I create. Not just pictures, but personal history. And the way I work with clients reflects that same care, intention, and heart.
But I didn’t always do it this way.
Burnout, Fast Sessions, and Lost Purpose
When I first started photography, I was a “shoot and burn” photographer. Twenty-minute mini sessions, back-to-back on weekends, handing over a handful of edited images in a gallery link and moving on to the next family. No real connection. No storytelling. Just a digital product on a to-do list.
It didn’t take long before I was completely burned out.
Before photography, I spent over a decade as a clinical social worker in our county’s school system. I loved it because I got to build real relationships. I got to understand families, connect with kids, and make a meaningful impact. When I pivoted to photography, I thought I was trading one kind of service for another—but what I missed, deeply, was that connection. I didn’t want to just take photos. I wanted to serve people. I wanted depth. I wanted to know your kids’ weird jokes, your dog’s name, and what makes your family uniquely yours.
That’s when everything changed.
A Boutique Model with Heart
I created a new approach. Slower, more personal, and completely relationship-driven. This boutique model means that instead of churning out images like a factory, I walk with you through every step of the experience—from planning to delivery. It starts with a free, in-home consultation. We pick out outfits, plan the vibe, and decide how you want your final artwork to live in your home. But more importantly, I get to know you. I learn your family’s energy, your kids’ silly quirks, what makes them light up and what melts them down. That connection shows up in the photos—and in how your kids open up to me during our session.
My background in clinical social work is my secret weapon. I’m trained to read kids’ cues, help them feel safe, and build trust fast. That’s why during sessions, we don’t “pose.” We play. I bring bubbles, balls, music—whatever keeps things light and fun. We run, laugh, play games. It’s never forced. It’s just your family being yourselves. The best photos come when everyone forgets I’m holding a camera.
From Digital to Tangible: The Power of Print
Once the session is done, my job isn’t. I help you select which images become artwork—framed prints, canvases, albums. Not buried in a Dropbox folder. Displayed proudly in your home. Every piece is crafted to last and designed to fit beautifully in your space. I repackage the finished artwork by hand, often with little surprises, and personally deliver it to your door.
We don’t just drop it off. We celebrate it.
I host what I like to call an “unveiling party.” Your kids get to see themselves on the wall. You get to hold something real in your hands. There’s a joy in those moments that no download link could ever match. It’s emotional, it’s personal, and it’s what makes my work matter.
Why It Matters
Choosing heirloom art over digital files isn’t about being fancy. It’s about meaning. It’s about legacy. I want your kids to grow up seeing themselves in the family story—not just in a feed that disappears in 24 hours. I want them to remember what their mom looked like when she laughed, how small their fingers were in dad’s hands, the way the dog always photobombed at the perfect moment. That’s the stuff worth printing.
My goal is to give you more than beautiful photos. I want you to feel seen, cared for, and celebrated. Because you’re not just clients—you’re families with stories, and I’m honored to help you tell them.
